On October 7, 2023, the Gondiya Zilla Parishad submitted a request to the Women and Child Welfare Department of Maharashtra, asking for immediate financial assistance to implement various welfare schemes. The request was made by Zilla Parishad member Add. Madhuri Rahangdale and was presented to the Minister of Social Welfare Atul Sabe. The plea emphasized the need to extend benefits to all marginalized groups, including OBC, Khula, NT, and SC categories, ensuring that no community is left behind in welfare schemes. The move aims to provide essential items such as chiseling machines and bicycles to women and students in rural areas, addressing the concerns of those who have been excluded from such benefits previously.
